Our girls are off, all 47 of this years' Short Tour group. I would describe the airport scene as "organized chaos". There were last minute trips to the restroom, bites to eat, equipment checks, confusion, and carry-on checks. After all that the girls sang "The Lord Bless You And Keep You" for us and were on their way. Some girls had never traveled before and there were many tears and worries, others so seasoned that they almost forget to tell their parents goodbye. Alexis was in the small group that would leave on a later flight with the director- this group had to be shuttled to another terminal. They all arrived safely and were in bed at the hotel when Debi called me at 2:28 this morning. Exhausted, I'm sure.
